Complementary coaching
Delta Grant Support is a Dutch firm specializing in the preparation for research grant interviews. Our e-learning environment is based on the coaching and training of Kick Moors and Hermen Visser. Over a decade of preparing hundreds of candidates for their interviews at ERC and the Dutch Research Council (NWO), they finetuned the trajectory to all its details and variations. In this trajectory applicants first perfect their presentations (strategy, storyline, slides) with Hermen and then continue working with Kick on presenting and answering questions. Combining two well-attuned specialists with complementary skills and focus creates a pleasant learning experience making applicants feel well-prepared and yields a high success rate.
The growing team of Delta Grant Support reflects this philosophy of complementary coaching. A team of well-aligned specialists is ready to work with you towards the best performance of your academic career.
How we differ
When searching for research grant support, you will find two types of coaching. Some coaches come from a professional background and offer a content-oriented approach. They focus on e.g. storytelling and slides. Others have a personal coaching background. They teach you to deal with stress, and the use of voice and body language. However, you are professional and a person. A fixation on checking the boxes and delivering a professional performance can alienate you from yourself. On the other hand, an exclusive focus on the personal without regarding the rules of the game disconnects you from your audience.
We take a a complete view of you being a person asked to deliver in a highly competitive professional context. This is how we make the difference:
- Our trajectories combine the technical aspects of the interview (e.g. strategy, storyline, scripts, slides, answering techniques) with attention for the person behind it (e.g. motivation, understanding stress and dealing with it).
- Working with us means tapping into the expertise of coaches with complementary specialisations and a passion for their part of the trajectory.
- Our e-learning unlocks our methodology for every candidate. By adding one-on-one sessions to it, you get a tailored trajectory enabling you to get expert support for those aspects you struggle with the most.
